H.E.L.P - HOMELESS EDUCATION | LINKING PARTNERS

  • Opportunities & Programs meeting Educational Needs

Fort Worth ISD’s H.E.L.P. program assists homeless students in District schools by providing a variety of support services and connecting families to community agencies that assist with shelter, food, family counseling, and much more. The program is dedicated to ensuring all homeless students have the opportunity to achieve academically, socially, and emotionally and are prepared for graduation and beyond.

What Is A Title I School?

Title I schools receive federal funding to address the academic needs of students and to assist them in meeting the state’s high standards, particularly in the areas of reading, writing, science and mathematics.

Most Fort Worth ISD schools are Title I schools, meaning that under ESSA guidelines these schools must receive Title I, Part A funding specifically to support parental and family engagement activities. The Family Communications Department works with Title I schools to engage families and promote partnerships between school personnel, families, and community leaders.
