I grew up in Robinson, Texas,a small town just outside Waco. I have been working in education for 22 years, as a teacher and then a school librarian. I have worked at Hubbard Heights Elementary for 13 years, and live in Burleson. I have been married to Brian since 2007 and we have two children, Ainsley (4th grade) and Wyatt (1st grade), who attend school in Burleson.
Animals are my jam! My family has three dogs; a hamster, a bearded dragon, and a hedgehog. I like to include videos of them on my YouTube channel: "Mrs. Selby Loves Libraries". My hobbies include reading, theatre, music, camping, gaming, and hanging out with friends and family. I am a lifelong Disney fan. No one knows more useless Disney lore than me, and I can prove it! Ha!
My favorite book series of all time is Harry Potter, but there are so many others I adore as well. There are SO many great books out there, and I would love to help you discover your favorites...just ask!
The only career I ever wanted for myself was teaching. I love working with kids and am I lifelong learner. It's the perfect career for me!. Learning is a lifelong process, and we all learn differently and at our own pace.
